Caryopteris Varieties

Caryopteris, known as Blue Beard, is a genus of deciduous plants that includes both shrubs and perennials. Here are some of the standout varieties from our nursery:

Caryopteris x clandonensis:

• ‘Arthur Simmonds’: Known for its deep blue flowers with an RHS AGM. 
• ‘White Surprise’ PBR: Offers an interesting variegated foliage.
• ‘Heavenly Blue’: A classic with pure blue flowers.
  

Caryopteris incana:

• ‘Sunshine Blue’ (Jason):
  • Discovery Story: This variety was discovered by my father, Peter Champion, in 1996 on our nursery. It's unique as the only yellow sport in this species.
  • Popularity: Sold worldwide for over a decade, particularly popular in the UK and USA, where it's known by my name, Jason.
  • Attributes: More compact and hardier than x clandonensis, with shimmering gold foliage making it a garden standout.
