Achillea 'Inca Gold'

Achillea Inca Gold (Yarrow) is a unique and stunning tall flowering perennial. Its feathery pale green leaves form a clump with a spreading habit, and it produces large flat flower heads with masses of orange flowers. What sets this variety apart is its silvery effect, both in the leaves and the flower colour, which is a beautiful pale orange. This plant was praised by Graham Stuart Thomas for its flat, close, and solid arrays of tiny daisy flowers, making it perfect for cutting and drying for winter.

Achillea is a useful genus with many garden-worthy plants, with most coming from the species millefolium. These plants are generally clump forming with a slow spreading habit and feathery, narrow leaves in a grey-green colour. The flat, clustered heads of flowers appear in June and can range in colour from pink to red and purple, with a yellow center in each flower. Native to Europe, West Asia, and the Himalayas, Achillea is also naturalized in North America, Australia, and New Zealand. It thrives in meadows and dry grassy places, making it a great addition to prairie plantings.

Achillea pairs well with other garden plants, especially Alchemilla mollis, Salvia nemorosa, Echinacea purpurea, and soft grasses like Stipa tenuissima. These plants are drought tolerant and not too picky about soil, making them a versatile and low-maintenance choice for any garden. Don't miss out on the unique and beautiful Achillea 'Inca Gold' - a must-have for any garden.
