Thalictrum aquilegiifolium (commonly misspelt as aquilegifolium) Purpureum is a large growing perennial to around 1m and this variety has larger and more robust foliage than that of T.delavayi and the foliage is similar to that of Aquilega, hence the name of the species. In summer this impressive plant puts on a huge display of light purple flowers in early summer.
